To celebrate its 100th birthday, Alpha Epsilon Phi prepared a centennial celebration, including a ceremony in Brooks Hall at Barnard College, where the sorority was founded, exactly one hundred years to the day after its founding. The extended celebration also included a special convention, where hundreds of current members and alumnae would gather to recognize and commemorate the accomplishments of the organization’s first 100 years.
For the Centennial Banquet, the convention’s capstone event, the sorority’s leaders wanted to show a film that told the story of the sorority on the occasion of this historic milestone. We visited multiple chapters and sorority events, interviewing dozens of collegiate members and alumnae leaders, to tell this compelling story in “Many Hearts, One Purpose.” Said Executive Director Bonnie Wunsch of the response, “Wow! It was amazing! The film blew them away. I even had one chapter tell me the next day that they want to use the film for recruitment. I think that the groups that want to emphasize the history and heritage of the sorority will definitely use it that way.”
