You probably don’t realize the critical role that Health Information Management (HIM) plays in your healthcare, and unfortunately, you’re not the only one. HIM is a vital piece of an increasingly-complex healthcare system, and the profession needs talented people to process, analyze, and understand the massive amount of health information that system processes every day.

That’s why the American Health Information Management Association called on Act3 to help them tell the HIM story.

We began with our Framing process, through which we examined trends and challenges in Health Information Management today, its perception among students, ideal candidates for the discipline, and different paths to a career in the field. We then drafted a Storyboard that captures the essence of the HIM story, and developed a strategy for refining AHIMA’s healthinformationcareers.com website that leverages the site and other existing resources to tell that story to the target audience of high school and college students, as well as career changers. The Storyboard served as the foundation for our work with AHIMA, which continues today.
